Leads development and execution of Operational Risk Management Standard implementation plan across Tesoros operating entities. Manages risk reduction efforts with assistance of subject matter experts from Environmental, Health, Safety and Security (EHS and S). Manages implementation of Event Management and Reporting Standard and participates in Event Management Oversight Steering Committee.
: Leads implementation and annual review process of risk program with focus on standard implementation, common work processes and best practices resulting in sustainable and predictable results. Performs periodic compliance assessments to ensure adherence to company standards. Determines gaps and works with Business Units/sites to institute appropriate gap closure measures.
: Builds capabilities and leads implementation and annual review process of Event Management and Reporting process in conjunction with subject matter expert (SME).
: Provide common expertise supporting sites understanding, application and efficiency of implementing standards requirements. In collaboration with EHS and S subject matter experts provides guidance on selection and application of appropriate risk analysis techniques and other technical aspects of risk assessment program.
: Defines, develops and utilizes common set of risk assessment tools supporting implementation of risk standard to include but not limited to: risk register template, risk process instructions, risk process timeline, risk notification forms, risk report including action tracking, Sharepoint site.
: Provides orientation and training on risk management process including use of tools to facilitate development of competencies and skills for practice of sound risk management. Works with Business Units/sites in prioritizing identified risks to generate effective action plans.
: Aggregates and analyzes risk management data to prepare executive summary.
: Creates and administers Risk Functional Excellence Team and Event Management and Reporting networks. Facilitates face:to:face meetings and teleconferences.
: Manages and leads staff. Initiates selection, promotion, and corrective actions when appropriate. Accountable for fair and uniform application of personnel policies.
: Manages budget exercising fiduciary stewardship.
: Minimum undergraduate engineering degree required.
: Minimum 10 years experience in the downstream energy sector (refining or logistics industries) required with minimum 3 years experience in operations or maintenance management positions required.
: Process safety risk management and incident investigation leadership experience required.
: Working knowledge and experience with management systems and development of standards, work processes, and best practices.
